Semi-Custom

Semi-custom pieces involving very small design changes, or changes to the standard configuration of a piece, are available upon request.

Semi-custom requests may affect pricing or lead-time, so they must be discussed before submitting an order.

Examples of semi-custom requests:

• Ordering a piece in a non-listed size

• Ordering the Miraj pendant with a different style chain than the “omega” style chain it comes with

• Ordering a piece from the Ikaros or Exolith collection with a specific pearl color, or stone type

• Most gold pieces are offered in 14kt, for its strength, durability, and scratch resistance, but these pieces can be made in higher purities if requested. Gold pieces are made in yellow gold by default, but rose and white gold can be requested too.

Fully-custom

Truly unique, fully custom pieces are available on a limited basis. This type of work may involve a drastic change to an existing design, or a completely original design. Some of the most cutting edge pieces are showcased in special projects page. Much like commissioning a painting or a sculpture, the design stays true to Kuiper Relics’ artistic style and design sensibilities, while tailoring the design to the customer’s requests.

These pieces command a higher premium, they are typically available in gold, and they are subject to longer lead-times.

Pricing is highly dependent on the size, materials, and complexity of the project. A non-refundable deposit is collected before in-depth design work commences.

Kuiper Relics LLC owns any designs generated from the conceptualization, purchase, or discussion of custom orders.

Repurposed Materials

Customer supplied metals will not be accepted for re-use in new pieces.

Customer supplied stones can be incorporated into custom designs. Not all stones are suitable for all projects. A stone’s usability will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

All stones will be handled with the utmost care. Used stones may have been weakened or damaged from wear and use, setting or installation in previous pieces, or removal from those pieces; even if that damage is not clearly visible upon inspection. For this reason, customer supplied stones are only accepted for re-use on the condition that Kuiper Relics LLC will not be held liable for any loss or damages arising from shipping or transporting the stones, removing stones from their previous settings, or reusing stones in new settings.
