How does one hold a sphere, without prongs, or a bezel, or adhesive? How can this be done mechanically?

The four-point tetrahedral sphere-clamp is a Kuiper Relics original, and a signature design element. Arranging the clamping points according to the simplest platonic solid results in an elegant and secure structure for showcasing a pearl or spherical stone. Each screw applying equal pressure, the sphere floats precisely at the centre of the setting, maximizing its viewable area.

This ring was one of my first designs to experiment with such an inventive pearl setting, and it paved the way for many Kuiper Relics designs to be built around this structure.
